New Caora Lounge Chair for London Design Fair
“Like a hug!” visitor at London Design Fair
We have collaborated with Welsh woollen mill Melin Tregwynt for London Design Fair, part of the London Design Festival in London through September.
The Caora Low Lounge Chairs have solid wood frames and are available in oak or ash that we have source sustainably in Perthshire. The steambent back-rail joins the front legs with beautiful bridle joints. The comfortable sloped and curved backrest is attached to the back rail with a lovely pegged detail. The seat is deep upholstery. The oak chair is shown with Melin Tregwynt Vintage Rose Lambswool woven fabric in Slate.
The ash chair (below) is shown with Melin Tregwynt Vintage Rose Lambswool woven fabric in Mead. The chairs are Made to Order and more details can be found in the Made to Order pages of our website. The lovely blue paint is Azurite by Edward Bulmer Natural Paint.
There has been a woollen mill at Melin Tregwynt since the 17th Century, and the current business has been weaving woollen cloth in their whitewashed stone-mill since 1912. They have been weaving the Vintage Rose double cloth since the 1960’s. The mill, on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, is well worth a visit. We felt an affinity with their rural craft business, as they are using a local material in a traditional way, whilst supporting a local circular economy. We are both members of Bluepatch Sustainable Business Directory. As well as exhibition opportunities Bluepatch have helped us become more aware of our carbon footprint through their ‘Path to Net Zero’. See more here.
We will also be showing a Prism Side Table in ash and a new Prism Plant Stand. Both are available in Made to Order.
