Native British Sycamore is a naturally pale timber but variations in colour and slight streaks and pips are to be expected. Each soap dish is slightly different due to variations in the wood grain.
The dishes are left unfinished (un-oiled) and can be lightly scrubbed clean with a nail brush when required. The reverse of the dish is engraved with our logo.
Dimensions length 11.5 x width 8 x height 2.5 cm.
Using solid soap bars reduces plastic waste. Soap last longer if allowed to dry between use.
Replacement soaps are available from Handam Zero Waste shop in Aberfeldy email: info.handam@gmail.com
The hand soap is hand-made by local young entrepreneur Amelia Milton using natural ingredients. The solid Lavender and Rosemary shampoo bar is hand-made by “Lather and Smudge” using all natural, responsibly sourced, ingredients in Perthshire. The washing up bar is based on coconut oil. To use rub the bar on a damp cloth, brush or scrub pad and then use for cleaning. We also find this bar very effective for cleaning wood surfaces in the kitchen. The ‘Safix’ scrub pad is made of coconut fibre and is bio-degradable and compostable. This is preferable to the plastic alternatives that break down and enter the sewage system and can ultimately harm sea creatures.
The soaps and dishes are posted in compostable cardboard packaging. Post and packing is free within mainland UK.
